You are what you consume

I was at the gym today, going through my upper body routine. I'm really weak in my upper body, so training my arms and shoulders was literally testing every patience and strength in my body. While I was going through the sets, this thought popped into my head. "You are what you consume". Growing up, we have all gone through pain and hardship, but just because it might not be hapenning anymore, does not mean you have genuinely overcome it. Life, although occuring through days, does not apply the same to humans. The body stores the trauma, the unprocessed emotions, even without us knowing, it affects our daily lives. To really overcome every thing we have been through, we must go familiarise our body with pain. But this time, the pain is in our control, because we choose to give ourselves the happy ending, the achievement, and through the pain of pushing ourselves, this time, trauma does not limit us. As we grow older, I am realising, the thought patterns and limiting beliefs I hold only get stronger. "I can't dont this". "What will everyone think of me?". "Everyone is constantly judging me". "I am so behind". And all of these thoughts, have been the result of looking at other people. Instead of avoiding the problem, what if we look at ourselves instead. What if, instead of shaming and being scared, we all got real ugly. What if we go the opposite way, and choose to see a version we never could have imagined we could be. All this starts with choosing something else, believing something else, even if it feels wrong. Because, atleast trying is better than staying still. All your thoughts, beliefs, work ethic, everything that you consume, shapes you into the person you are becoming.
